With nearly 60 festas in Malta on the Annual Calendar, mostly during the Summer months and nearly 20 festas on the smaller sister island of Gozo, the traditional festa is not to be missed. Held in every village throughout the Maltese Islands, this traditional event is celebrated in honour of the patron saint of the local church. The church and piazza are beautifully decorated with lights and drapes, the streets are lined with hawker stalls and the local band club creates a very lively atmosphere.
