Gozo Tour – Discover Malta’s Sister Island

Commonly known as the sister island of Malta, Gozo reflects the greener parts of the Maltese Islands. Gozo is known to be more rural and it is popular for its scenic hills and outstanding views.

Experience the following locations in the Island of Gozo Tour:

Ggantija Temples – The Ggantija Temples in Xaghra, Gozo, are one of the most archaeological sites in the Maltese Islands. The two temples date back to between 3600 and 3200 B.C. The temples are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and they exhibit some of the most unique prehistoric artefacts discovered in Gozo.

The Cittadella – The Citadella is a citadel in Victoria on the island of Gozo. During the medieval period, the acropolis was converted into a castle which served as a refuge for Gozo’s population. The Citadella houses a number of churches and historic buildings and it is an extremely popular touristic destination.

Xlendi – Xlendi is a village located in the southwest of Gozo. This village is known for its punic tombs, the Xlendi tower, various chapels and the Xlendi bay that is ideal for sunbathing and diving.

Dwejra Azure Window – The Azure Window, also known as the Dwejra Window, was a natural arch on the island of Gozo. This window collapsed in stormy weather on the 8th of March in 2017. The arch and its natural features have appeared in numerous international films and it is still a popular touristic destination despite its collapse.

Ta’ Pinu Basilica – The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Blessed Virgin of Ta’ Pinu is a Roman Catholic basilica located in the village of Gharb in Gozo. The church is located in the open countryside and it is equipped with beautiful views of the area.

Qala Windmill – The magnificent Qala windmill is a well-restored windmill that is one of the most popular destinations on the sister island of Gozo. There are some interesting exhibits and information that you can explore here.

Salt Pans, Zebbug – The northern coast of Gozo offers an important tradition, that of sea-salt production. The three-kilometre stretch of salt pans provides a lovely area for a walk to admire the views.

Nadur and Mgarr Harbour – Nadur is one of the most popular villages in Gozo, especially when it comes to the Gozo Carnival. The village has its own baroque church, a Maritime museum, watch tower and it is surrounded by green valleys and peaceful bays. Mgarr Harbour is where locals and tourists take the Gozo Ferry to and from Malta.
